Welcome to the PiedmontRotary Club
Piedmont, Missouri
Wayne County, Missouri
.....where one stop light, one radio station
and one Rotary Club get 'er done!
Chartered in1941, the
Piedmont Rotary Club is the
oldest continuing civic organization in the county.
Club members combine
their resources with donations from area businesses to
help support over twenty area charities and youth
related activities including scholarships,
scouting
and sports.
Special emphasis is placed
on activities to help alleviate the symptoms of poverty
and promote literacy.
Virtually all money raised
by donations is returned to the community,
usually in
the year it is raised. Monies not spent are invested for
scholarships in future years.
Rotarians insert Rotary's
Four Way Test in dictionaries for third grade students
in Wayne County. The book plate also provides space for each
student's name. Rotarians shown include (l-r) Don Brooks, Ed
Rhodes, Mike Fleming, Kent Sisco, Christina Kime, Beau Gooch and
Darren Garrison. 2011 marked the 10th year that Piedmont
Rotarians have provided dictionaries in conjunction with
Rotary International's worldwide literacy effort.
"Make
Dreams Real"
is what Rotary is all about. Today, Piedmont Rotarians are committed to both local and international service projects that make a difference and impact lives. Looking for a place to "give back" to the community? Then, I personally invite you to visit our club!
